As a graduate student at the University of Iowa, my key areas of study were medical anthropology and women’s reproductive health. I spent many hours in the medical library, pondering over jargon-filled texts. The result is that I have the ability to write for both professional and consumer audiences, understanding the medical language enough to both share it with physicians and translate it for the lay reader. These skills do not limit me to covering health alone. I write for trade and consumer publications on such topics as private aviation, group travel, food manufacturing, and more.

Publications I have written for include BBC Earth, Group Travel Leader, Sherpa Report, Atlas Obscura, Mental Floss, The Lane Report, LearnVest, American Cowboy, Dogs Monthly, Relish, At Home Tennessee, Kentucky Monthly, and more.

My magazine editing experience includes Kentucky Doc, Health & Wellness, and the KSHA Communicator.
